Isfahan has woven some of the best Persian rugs in the latter part of the 20th century. This unusual red field rug is in the Kashan manner with its blue border and palmette, leaf and arabesque pattern, instead of the more common ivory grounds. The weave is extremely fine and even, the pile is clipped close and incredibly evenly and the execution is flawless in this c. 1940 central Persian rug.
