Although the majority of Heriz carpets from northwest Persia are in medallion styles, this example employs essentially an overall pattern of large lancet leaves, palmette assemblages and a colorful assortment of rosettes and geometric ornaments. This c.1910 carpet is moderately coarse in weave on an all cotton foundation with naturally sourced colors.
